South Africa is undergoing significant social transformation, evolving to become one of the most diverse societies in the world. This poses many challenges for people from different cultural, ethic and religious backgrounds to live together as one congruent South African society. In this environment communication is critically important to achieve common understanding. Very few people in South Africa truly understand how to communicate taking diversity, cultural, ethnic and gender sensitive aspects into consideration. Do you agree? Yes or no? What challenges do you experience in this arena? We'd love you to share your comments. Nicci Columbine, MD, Columbine Communications

I think that there is still a lot of misunderstanding about diversity in South Africa. We all should take time to better understand our cultural differences more and learn how to communicate effectively with each other in this environment.
